For the 3rd time, China renames places in India's Arunachal Pradesh




The first batch of six names was released in November 2017, just a few days after the visit of Tibetan spiritual leader Dalai Lama to Arunachal. The second one was released in December 2021, just two days before China’s new land border law came into effect.

European People's Party offices raided by Belgian and German police




The EPP is the largest party at the European level and its group holds the biggest number of seats in the European Parliament.


German media reported the probe is not directed against the party or any of its current employees but against Mario Voigt, the CDU leader in Thuringia, who is suspected of corruption and bribery.

New images from inside Fukushima reactor spark safety worry




Images captured by a robotic probe inside one of the three melted reactors at the tsunami-wrecked Fukushima nuclear power plant showed exposed steel bars in the main supporting structure and parts of its thick external concrete wall missing, triggering concerns about its earthquake resistance in case of another major disaster.

Jacinda Ardern to begin new role combating online extremism




Ardern launched the Christchurch Call with French President Emmanuel Macron in 2019, two months after a white supremacist gunman killed 51 people at two mosques in the New Zealand city of Christchurch. The gunman livestreamed the slaughter for 17 minutes on Facebook before the video was taken down.

The El Niño climate event is responsible for raising global temperatures and aggravating extreme weather events. It is caused by ocean temperatures and winds in the Pacific that oscillate between warming El Niño and cooling La Niña.

Nearly 400 ex-rugby, soccer players in concussion lawsuit




The latest high-profile player to join the concussion lawsuit is Dafydd James, a former rugby winger for Wales and the British & Irish Lions who has been diagnosed with early onset dementia and probable CTE (chronic traumatic encephalopathy).


Former Manchester United defender Colin Gibson is also now among the group after being diagnosed with dementia.
